Motion Graphics
These are the assignments and projects that I have done during the Motion Graphics class. In this class, we learn something beyond static graphics that we normally do. I have learned how to make graphic elements like shapes and typography more attractive by adding motion to them. To be honest, I find motion graphics quite challenging and yet interesting at the same time.

Most of the time we use Adobe After Effects to come up with the videos. But then we can also use Adobe Illustrator to draw the illustrations before exporting them to Adobe AE. At last, the video will be rendered on Adobe AE.
Project 1 - Self Portrait

This is my first motion graphic assignment which is a self-portrait. We were allowed to show anything about ourselves and I chose to explain what I like and dislike by doing a comparison. It was my first time creating a video with Adobe After Effects. And I considered about the use of fonts, colors and images in this video.
Project 2 - Kinetic Typography​
​
This is a group project and we had to look for a meaningful speech given by a famous person. We decided to quote from the Winning Speech 2012 by Barack Obama. We think that his words were motivating and empowering.

Kinetic typography may seem easy to do but when we got our hands on it, it wasn't as easy as expected at all. We had to sketch the arrangements of the typo and the way they are going to appear in the video. The toughest job was to make it into a video. We explored with different types of typography and decided to use the bold one as it looked affirming and more formal. A lot of effects were added to the typography so that they seem like they're constantly moving around. It is better to make the movement of the typography considering the meaning of the word.
Project 3 - Title Sequence

In this project we need to produce the title sequence for a selected movie. Title sequence is what we usually see before a movie starts and it is a very important part of the movie as it gives credits to most of the people who contributed in the movie.

The movie we chose was Annabelle. We decided to use live footage to bring out a better feeling of horror and eeriness. The fonts and sound effects we used also matches the feeling of the movie as we hope the audience is able to experience the emotion of fear that is what this movie is all about.
Project 4 - TV Ident

This was our final project and in a group of 4 we were assigned to produce a TV ident for a specific type of television channel. Finally, we decided to do a TV ident for travel channel and we named the channel as Journey TV.
In this video, we created illustrations that are in 3D forms. The illustrations include varieties of food, architectures, transports and symbols of a few countries to promote the idea of travelling around the world. The illustrations are colorful as we hope that they will are able to deliver an appealing feeling to the audience and as a result attract them to watch the channel.
